On hot days in the park, everyone wants refreshments! Universal Studios Orlando has made this easier for their guest by offering several different refillable programs from drinks to popcorn.
Each of the three parks at in Orlando’s Universal Studios sells a mug for $14.99 + tax that has an RFID chip in the bottom that allows you unlimited refills from Coca-Cola Freestyle stations. If you buy more than one mug, they offer discounts in price for each additional mug. Also, if you buy it Islands of Adventure, you can use it also in Universal Studios as you park hop. On a hot day, this can be very cost effective.
Throughout the park there are several free-standing Coca-Cola Freestyle stations and you can also get refills at any quick dining restaurant. The park map has an icon to locate each station making it easy for you to find a refill when things get hot! Each station lets you choose from over 100 combinations of soda and drinks. Mix and combine, but you must wait 10 minutes between each new refill. So, if you don’t like what you got, just wait 10 minutes to refill with something new.
Do you need to purchase new cups each day? No! You can purchase as many days as you want for the same mug at the time of purchase or add it on the next day when you get there. Our second day cost us $7.99 a mug + tax, but prices are subject to change. No matter when you buy it, it will expire at midnight on the last night you purchased.
While this is a great deal, it may not be the mug or cup you want. Most cups and mugs over $15 also come with one fill of a drink. Be sure to read the sign or ask an employee to make sure your mug comes with one fill.
Is the refillable mug worth the money? Just fill it 4-5 times and it pays for itself as a bottle of water is $3 + tax and fountain drinks range from $3.39-$3.79 + tax.
Universal didn’t stop there! Do you like popcorn? Buy a souvenir bucket of popcorn and then come back as often as you want for a refill for a lower price. If you have a popcorn fan, this is a pretty good deal!
