Baby Beach is probably my family’s favorite activity on the island. This beach is located on the southern side of the island, and is a half-moon shaped, calm lagoon that is great for families and some snorkeling. You won’t see a ton of fish variety, but there is some coral life, including turtles, that are always swimming around. There are food vendors and some shade palapas around the beach so you can make it a full day excursion. Although, we usually hit up Kamini’s Kitchen for lunch (her blue lipped mussels and curried goat is amazing!) just a few miles away as you’re headed back up the island.
There are several companies that offer ATV tours around the back side of the island. Dramatic landscapes, unique rock formations, caves, and an abandoned gold mine are some of the many treasures you will find on the windward side of the island.
Catamarans, Offshore Fishing Charters, Shipwreck Diving, Sunset Sails, Jolly Roger Pirate Ships and so many more offshore activities are waiting for you off the shores of Aruba.
Food. Do I need to say more? The food on the island is delicious! The fresh fish and their cuisine with a mix of Dutch and Caribbean influences is not to be missed. As mentioned above, we love Kamini’s near Baby Beach, Linda’s Dutch Pancakes as well as Wacky Wahoo’s near Palm Beach, Taste My Aruba in Downtown Aruba, Bugaloe Beach Bar over the water on Eagle Beach and catching dinner at the California Lighthouse while watching the sunset. This is just the tip of the iceberg of restaurants that we love to visit while on Aruba.
