If you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation in November and December then adding on time for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a MUST! This special ticketed event is full of holiday magic as the Magic Kingdom transforms into a winter wonderland full of enchantment. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of all the unique experiences!

  1. Maximize the time for your tickets– Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party is a “Hard Ticket” event, this means it requires a separate admission from the regular theme park ticket. While the party does not start until 7pm, your ticket gets you into the Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00pm. So take full advantage of this extra time!
  2. Check out the second parade to minimize crowds- The party will feature the “Once Upon a Christmastime” parade both before and after the fireworks, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show. The second parade is usually less crowded, meaning you can see all the joyful floats and fun characters a little closer. Watching the parade on Main Street will provide great views and may be holiday card worthy!
  3. Grab all the cookies and hot cocoa! There are stations throughout the park serving a variety of cookies and hot cocoa. These stations will be noted on your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party guide map. It is important to note that the complimentary refreshment stations located near the park entrance at the start of the party and during the parade times tend to form heavy lines.
  4. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show- viewing is best in front of the castle because of the projections. It will get busy so grab your spot on Main Street early!
  5. Character Meet and Greet Opportunities- Keep an eye out because some not so commonly seen characters will make an appearance during the party and they will be decked out in their holiday attire! Some of the more exclusive characters include the Seven Dwarfs, Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, The lines for these more exclusive characters can be very long so arriving and getting in line before the party starts is important.
  6. Special Shows- There will be several dance parties and shows that you want to make time for! These are fun and unique to the Christmas party!
  7. Rides- Limit yourself to the most popular if you plan to ride attractions. You really want to save most of your time for the unique offerings only available to those attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
  8. It Snows on Main Street!- If you are a southern girl like me you will appreciate any snow, even if it only happens magically on Main Street USA! Be sure to add some time to take it all in while listening to some of your favorite holiday music with your family.
