This winter Walt Disney World opened a new character meal at Wilderness Lodge at their restaurant called Artist Point. I was very lucky to snag a reservation for the new Snow White dining experience. I will be honest I am a finicky eater so I was nervous when I saw the menu– but I was pleasantly surprised with the food.
This dining experience is a three-course meal. You start with individual portions of three appetizers – Winter squash bisque (which comes in a small cauldron!), Hunter’s pie and Wicked shrimp cocktail. I tried two of the three because I do not eat seafood and I loved both the pie and the soup. My husband said the shrimp was excellent as well.
The second course is your choice of the main meal. I choose the prime rib which was cooked perfectly. I tried the mashed potatoes that has horse radish added, I have never had that before and I will probably never have it again. I guess I am not a fan of horse radish. I tried Kim’s entrée which is a vegetarian option call A Stroll through Nature. It is Gnocchi with butternut squash, it was awesome! There is also a seafood stew which the boys in my family loved. There is a choice for even the pickiest of eaters.
The dessert course was again individual portions – Miner’s Treasure, Fairy tale gooseberry pie and a Poisoned apple. It was cool to be able to try each of the desserts. My favorite was the gooseberry pie it tasted like apple pie to me. My husband like the poisoned apple because it had a sour center.
The food was good but the reason that we went was to see the characters. Snow White, Grumpy and Dopey all came to our table to interact with us and let us take pictures. At the end of the meal you were able to go and visit with the Evil Queen. The Queen was my favorite character at this meal. She was a pleasure to interact with and we got some great pictures.
All-in-all I highly recommend this experience for our guests traveling to Walt Disney World.
