When Carnival started planning the Vista Class ships they designed them with families in mind. There is so much to see and do onboard it may take more than one trip to experience it all. They great news is these 3 ships are or soon will be at home ports from coast to coast.
The Carnival Vista began sailing in May 2016 and it home post is currently out of Galveston, Texas. The Carnival Horizon began sailing in April 2018 and it’s home port is out of Miami, Florida. The newest ship, the Carnival Panorama, with begin sailing out of it’s home port of Long Beach, California in December 2019.
Each Vista Class ship offers families the option to stay in their Family Harbor rooms which include interior, ocean view, balconies and suites. Staying in a Family Harbor room also gives you access to the Family Harbor Lounge where you can grab breakfast, have snacks, utilize concierge service, play Hasbro games, watch family movies, play video games and more. As an added bonus Family Harbor kids eat free in select specialty dining restaurants (ages 11 and under) as well as receive one free night of Night Owl Camp (ages 11 and under) so parents can enjoy a date night.
Along with the amazing stateroom amenities you’ll find plenty to entertain everyone in your family day and night. Starting with their 3 kids programs. The first, Camp Ocean, is divided into 3 age groups, Penguins ages 2-5, Stingrays ages 6-8 and Sharks ages 9-11. Next is Circle C for ages 12-14 and the last is Club O2 for 15-17 year olds. Outside of the kids programs there is even more to do as a family. Seuss at Sea is an character parade for all to watch or read a book in Dr. Seuss’ Bookville. You can also make reservations for a Seuss at Sea character breakfast. What about some family fun in the video arcade or Hasbro, The Game Show where you team up to play games like Simon Flash, Bowling and Connect 4 in front of a live studio audience to win prizes? You can also enjoy spending time watching first run movies in the IMAX theater or the Thrill theater which includes 3D video effects, wind, splashes and moving seats.
Want to spend some time outside? There are so many options on the upper decks where you can also enjoy amazing views and sea breezes. The Sports Square is where you will find many fun activities for everyone. SkyCourse is the first ropes course at sea and has two options, easy and hard. In the Clubhouse you can find sky billiards, ping pong and watch sports on tv. If you are into basketball, volleyball or soccer then head over the SkyCourt for some sporty fun. Feeling a little competitive? How about a round of mini golf? And SkyRide, who wouldn’t want to pedal around an 800 foot suspended track, 150 feet above the sea? You can pedal as fast (up to 15mph) or as slow as you want and enjoy the views from all around you. No cruise would be complete without a dip in one of the pools or take a whirl on one of the waterslides.
Carnival’s motto is Choose Fun and they certainly give you so many options to have fun not just onboard but at all their amazing destinations.
