My family is always in a bit of a funk after coming back from a trip. The kids are cranky getting back into their routines and everything seems like so much less fun when you aren’t staying in a hotel and exploring somewhere new. Since we can’t snap our fingers and go back on vacation, I’ve got some great ways to get over the post vacation blues:
- Talk about your trip! Discuss everyone’s favorite part, favorite thing they did, favorite food or whatever comes to mind! What did you love about the trip and would want to do again? What would you change? What’s the biggest memory you are taking back with you from this trip? The possibilities are endless, and there is nothing wrong with reliving an amazing trip over and over again.
- Go through those pictures and videos! Talk about how happy you felt when that photo was snapped or exactly what you were doing when that picture was taken. Laugh about the funny memories and remember what a special moment it was. Then print them out and put them on display or make an album while the memories are fresh!
- Go through the souvenirs. It might be something extra special from the place you visited, or if could even be part of a collection (we can’t leave Disney without a few new pins). Either way, our souvenirs from our trips become part of our everyday life at home. Snowglobes are on display, coffee mugs are used daily, and we continue to embrace our silly side) with our Disney shirts!
- Plan another trip. The best way to get over vacation blues is to have another trip to look forward to. Our team loves to find the perfect vacation for you and your family. It’s always great to have something to look forward to, and we are thrilled to help you find the right trip for you!
