My kids will disagree with this completely. But I love a trip to Disney with just adults. And now, with the release of next year’s packages just around the corner it’s the perfect time to plan a grown up escape! Whether it’s a girls trip, a couples trip or a trip with other adult friends, getting away without the kids is much needed.
Don’t get me wrong, I love going with my kids and experiencing Disney through their eyes, but it’s a whole different kind of experience when it’s adults only.
Slower Pace
Going with adults only means things are a little bit slower. Somehow, I feel way less rushed when I’m not with the kids. There’s way less guilt if we miss something, and a more relaxed feeling as you sit through meals and shows. The “go go go” feeling is gone making a Disney vacation somehow more relaxed!
Late Nights
Disney has a lot of amazing late night options. Disney Springs and the Boardwalk offer a lot of after hours fun. There are bars all over the property, movies and shows at night and so many other ways to stay busy. It’s not always realistic with kids who have been going all day long and need to get to sleep. Enjoy the fireworks and stay for Once Upon a Time! Then stay late for The Kiss Goodnight!
No Whining
Y’all, I love my kids. I do. But man, can they whine. Even though they are at DISNEY WORLD, they will find something to complain about. Without the kids the complaints and whining are minimal. Yes, I whine about the heat and my husband whines about needing more adult beverages, but somehow those seem like easier fixes than the kids wanting to ride something again and again.
Eat and Drink What YOU Want!
I find that when we are going on a family trip, the vast majority of our meals are planned around what the kids will enjoy. There are great kid friendly options at almost every restaurant on property, but getting to go and do what you want without having to worry about the kids staying happy is so nice!
