We took full advantage of a long layover on our way to Vietnam and had TWO glorious days in San Fran. I know what you’re thinking- “two days is NOT enough time in San Fran”. And you are totally right, but we made it work and I loved every minute of my maiden voyage to San Francisco!
Here are the highlights to hit:
- Walk the entire Golden Gate Bridge. Totally worth it. AND FREE!
- After your hike across the bridge, hit up Bar Bocce in Sausalito. The food is to die for, they have bocce ball, and they sit on the water. It is PERFECT.
- Alcatraz. My biggest regret is NOT doing the tour. My husband says it’s awesome.
- Eat any and everything at the Wharf, because, why not?!?
- Rent a scooter and zip your way through the city. It is one of my favorite ways to explore. Easy, fun, and saves your energy.
- Hike Bernal Heights Hill for a killer view and a massive wooden swing that is the PERFECT IG SPOT. Explore the Bernal Heights Neighborhood. This is a quieter area filled with younger families and killer food for a much more modest price.
- Baker Beach and Kirby Cove are definite must sees. The views are unbelievable and less crowded than many of the other locations in the area.
- Stop in at Buena Vista for an Irish Coffee (Fun fact! Buena Vista is the mastermind behind the original Irish Coffee). It is THE BEST.
- After your coffee, jump on a cable car!
- If you have more than 2 days, I have one word for you: NAPA.
