Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is now open at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in Florida! After years of anticipation, Guests are now joining the Resistance in a climactic battle against the First Order.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious attractions ever created for a Disney park. The thrilling action takes place in massive sets that give your Clients the feeling of stepping inside a Star Wars film as they elude the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order in a mad dash through a Star Destroyer.

Rise of the Resistance popularity is HUGE. We highly recommend guests arrive at least 1-hour prior to park opening if they want a chance of riding this attraction. Boarding groups open immediately upon official park opening and you must be scanned into the park to gain access!
How to Get Your Boarding Group
Due to the popularity of Rise of the Resistance, Walt Disney World has implemented a Boarding Group process. You’ll need to be inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park to join a Boarding Group- giving you access to the ride when your Boarding Group is called.
To join a Boarding Group simply open your My Disney Experience App and open the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge section. From there, click Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance- Access by Boarding Group. You will be taken to a screen that will share the current boarding status of the ride, as well as show if Boarding Groups are available to join. If they are available, tap Join Boarding Group to secure your spot.
A few things to note:
- Joining a Boarding Group will not guarantee the ability to ride Rise of the Resistance.
- If ‘Join Boarding Group’ is greyed out, boarding groups may be full for the day.
- You’ll only be allowed to join guests with valid theme park admission, and who are linked to your My Disney Experience Account to a Boarding Group.
- Make note of your return time on the My Disney Experience Account. Once your Boarding Group has been called, you’ll may only have 1 to 2 hours to make your way to the entrance of Rise of the Resistance. Once you arrive, you may have additional wait time in line.
