Chances are high that if you and I have ever spoken about Disney (if? HA!), I’ve mentioned Dole Whip at least once. It’s quite possibly one of my favorite treats at any Disney venue, and for someone who doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, that’s saying a lot. A Disney adventure is not complete without a few Dole Whip, and you better believe I’ll do my best to introduce it to anyone who hasn’t tried it and make sure they fall in love with this sweet treat.
Dole Whip is a pineapple flavored soft serve type of ice cream that is vegan, gluten free, and beyond delicious. It’s available at Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Lines and Aulani in a variety of spots within most of the locations.
You can get Dole Whip plain, in a float with pineapple juice, on top of pineapple upside down cake, and even with alcohol. And no matter which way you have it, it’s delicious. And now, there are even more flavors of Dole Whip available to try in a variety of fun, special cones! Not only that, Dole Whip is a cultural icon with tons of swag devote to this favorite snack including stuffed animals, shirts, pins and more!
Other than the fact that I love the taste and texture, there’s a bit of nostalgia to Dole Whip for me. The first time I ever tried it was with my son, and it was love at first bite for both of us. The rest of our family can take it or leave it (weird, right?). Not only has it become a must do for us on each and every trip, it’s something that we both love and get super excited to share together. As he’s getting a bit older, he’s getting a little too cool for me and his dad. But this silly, simple treat is something that always keeps us together.
Yes, we usually fight over who gets to eat more, but it’s worth it. Disney is all about those special moments and Dole Whip is definitely one of ours!
